This collection is an intimate journey that explores an ever changing landscape. It is a journey of self-discovery, often starting from a visual clue that is modelled in the wet clay and transformed into an aesthetically stunning work. The work is an expression of a context in a moment in time, a poetic rendering of what might otherwise be a mundane layer of rocks. Each single slab of clay embraces the next to form a complex arrangement of lines and shapes, meandering passages, islands of texture and colour. The simple compositions lure the viewer, the deeper nuances of the works asking for a private, more personal appreciation of the whole. Each piece is an interaction of forces at play, a flow of artistic thought frozen in clay, a game that is played on more than one level.
